Beycik · Lycian Way · 950 m
The last bed before the summit.
A fifteen-room mountain house in the pines of Tahtalı, high above Tekirova and the sea, where walkers on the Lycian Way rest before the long climb over the mountain.
01 The house
Halfway between the sea and the sky.
Beycik sits high on the southern slopes of Tahtalı Dağı, the ancient Mount Olympos. Above the village there is only forest, limestone and the col that carries the Lycian Way over the mountain. Below it the land falls away through pine and maquis to the Gulf of Antalya, a quarter of an hour by car.
Nara is a family house with fifteen rooms, a deep garden and a long table. Most of the people who sleep here arrive on foot, with a pack and a story about the day. We keep things simple and generous: hot water at any hour, a good bed, breakfast whenever you need it, and someone who knows the path you are about to take.

02 On the Lycian Way
Where the coastal path becomes a mountain.
For most of its length the Lycian Way follows the shore. At Beycik it turns inland and climbs: up through the pines to a pass at about 1,800 metres on the shoulder of Tahtalı, one of the highest points of the whole route, before dropping to the high pastures of Yayla Kuzdere.
Walkers coming up from Ulupınar arrive here after a long ascent; walkers heading north leave here before dawn. Either way, Beycik is the night that matters.

05 The table
Garden vegetables, a glass of our own wine.
Cooking at Nara follows the garden and the season: vegetables and fruit grown nearby, simple home cooking, and the fish salad our regulars come back for. Breakfast is served whenever you want it: at dawn before the climb, or late after a long day.
In the evening there is the house wine, made here, and a long table where walkers swap notes on the stages ahead.
